English Language Development
English Language Development is a high priority at Alta, where a high percentage of students do not speak English at home. These students are taught to speak, read and write in English through ELD classes embedded into their school day. Within just one to two years, most English Learners are reclassified because they have shown the ability to function and compete in a classroom with their peers who are native English speakers.
Alta is proud of our exemplary record of reclassifying English learners and preparing them to be successful students in all subjects throughout their school career.
