For the third year in a row and under new leadership and an outstanding teaching staff, Alta California ES preliminary scores demonstrate a 9% overall gains in both ELA and Math for the 2017-2018 school year. To put it in perspective, the state of California expects every school to grow by 2.5% a year, as a measure of progress. Alta has made 25% growth in the last 3 years.
On June 12, 2018, Alta California ES was approved by the LAUSD School Board to begin a Gifted Magnet for the 2019-2020. This is a great opportunity for the students and families to have a choice for accelerating their high achieving students.
Alta California Elementary School was honored by the LAUSD School Board for improving student achievement, reclassifying English Learners and boosting school spirit.
