Alta California Elementary School was honored by the LAUSD School Board on September 19, 2017 during the Committee of the Whole for improving student achievement (increased ELA and Math scores by 16% within the last two years), reclassifying English Learners (reclassified the highest amount of students in the Northwest) and boosting school spirit (used various buttons and incentive programs to motivate student achievement).
